The project involves the implementation of measures aimed at recovering or expanding the area of habitats of importance for the conservation of Biodiversity on the islands of Montecristo, Giannutri, Pianosa, and Elba.
The common denominator is the fight against invasive alien species, which will be executed with the most advanced techniques; specific interventions will be performed on each island so as to achieve maximum results with minimum impact on the species to be protected.
In particular, for the redevelopment of the dune system of Lacona (Elba), bioengineering techniques will be used to help stabilize and protect it from erosion and anthropic overexploitation.
