24/11/2014 – Some preliminary work has started for the habitat restoration of  Southern riparian galleries and thickets of Montecristo. Researchers at the University of Florence have collected samples of oleander (Nerium oleander) near the island of Capraia; the samples will be analyzed using genetic techniques and compared with specimens of Montecristo. The study will evaluate subsequent interventions to protect the habitat of Cala Maestra ditch.
