This seasonal habitat features very specialized, ephemeral vegetation consisting of small annual plants. It is found in Montecristo on significant surfaces spread over small, extremely fragmented areas. This habitat is extremely vulnerable and threatened by groups of Ailanthus altissima (already the subject of eradication operations) and depleted by goats grazing and causing soil compaction.
